On January 18, at 1819hrs, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle fire on Interstate-95 near the Playland Parkway overpass. The car fire was quickly extinguished but the traffic was built up for a few miles. All occupants in the vehicle escaped without injury.
