The Rye Fire Department would like to congratulate career firefighter Kurt Tietjen on his recent promotion to Lieutenant and Fire Inspector for the City of Rye Fire Department. Lieutenant Tietjen has been a part of the City of Rye Fire Department for over 20 years and brings years of experience to his new position. He first started as a Volunteer firefighter with the Poningoe Engine and Hose Company in June of 1989 and then was hired as a career firefighter in March of 2000. Lieutenant Tietjen takes over the position after Lieutenant Jim Dianni retired after 35 years of service back in March.
