At approx. 1100 hours on Saturday, April 23rd, the Rye Fire Department and Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS were dispatched to a pedestrian struck MVA inside the CVS parking lot on Boston Post Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found a car very close to the building with a person on the ground. Firefighters quickly cared for the injured until care was transferred to the ambulance crew.
On Monday, June 20th at approx. 10:30pm, the Rye Fire Department was dispatched to Interstate 95 Northbound by Midland Ave Exit 22 for a reported Truck Fire. Engine 192 was first on scene and updated the location to mile maker 14.7, which put the incident in Port Chester FD's jurisdiction. As an annual Memorial Day Weekend Tradition, The United States Marine Corps comes to Playland to participate in an Air Raid Demo. This year, two USMC aircraft, a Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion and a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey participated in the demo. In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 28th, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched to Interstate I-287 near the ramp to I-95 NB for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with entrapment.
