| This year's fire prevention week focuses on families and their interaction in the event of a fire in the home. The official name is "Protect your family from fire!" and the sponsor is the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Among the brochures the NFPA has made available are "Fire Facts" for adults and "Protect your family from fire" magnets. "Sparky" the fire dog has a children's brochure in English and Spanish that has a check list to use to inspect their homes for potential fire risks.
