On July 14th, at 7:54pm, The Rye Fire Department and Rye Police Department were dispatched to the area of 17 Natoma St for a reported structure fire. Rye Police updated responding units that they were receiving multiple 911 calls about a house on fire in that area. RFD Engine 191 and Ladder 25 were on scene within minutes and confirmed a working fire at 15 Natoma St. The "10-75" Working Fire assignment was then dispatched, bringing a Harrison FD engine, Town of Mamaroneck FAST, Battalion 15 and Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS to the scene.

Firefighters stretched two 1 ¾ inch attack lines from Engine 191 into the basement. Engine 192 hooked up to a hydrant on Wappanocca Ave and laid a 5 inch supply line directly to Engine 191 to establish a positive water source. Thanks to a quick attack, firefighters were able to contain most of the fire to the Laundry room, in the basement. Other firefighters conducted primary and secondary searches of the building. Simultaneously, firefighters conducted overhaul in the basement and found no extension. The Town of Mamaroneck firefighters stood by on scene as a Firefighter Assist Search Team (FAST). The fire was put under control shortly thereafter and the Town of Mamaroneck FAST was then released.

Utilizing equipment from Utility 39, Rye firefighters set up the rehab unit, to help firefighters with rehabilitation. Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS also stoodby on scene. Thankfully, there were no injuries. The Village of Mamaroneck FD and Port Chester FD stoodby in Rye FD Headquarters for the duration of the incident.

The Cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services Cause and Origin Team and the Rye Police Department.

Rye units were back in service at 9:34pm.
