| 12 Years ago today, four U.S. planes hijacked by terrorists crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people. Of the FDNY firefighters that responded on the alarm from Box 8087, 343 would make the ultimate sacrifice. For those not familiar, Rye Firefighters were called to Ground Zero on 9/11 and spent days supporting our FDNY brothers. Engine 191 spent 2 days at ground zero while Ladder 26 was on standby at a FDNY firehouse in the Bronx. Below, you will find a YouTube video attached to this news post. If you go to 0:35 in the video, you will see Engine 191 operating at Ground Zero. Rest in Peace to all those who were lost. |
