| On Monday, September 30 at 1818 hours, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched to Nugent Field on the Campus of Rye High/Middle School for a reported light pole on fire. Units were quickly on scene and reported that one of the stadium light poles, used to illuminate the turf field at night, had caught fire. School security and maintenance personnel were on scene and confirmed that power had been shut off to the light pole. Firefighters then stretched a 1 3/4-trash line from Engine 191 and doused the flames.
Unfortunately, The Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Team was forced to suspend their game. The game has since been rescheduled. |
