To honor the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing, supporters from "One Run For Boston" organized a relay run from California to Boston. One stage of the relay ran from Larchmont, through Rye, and then onto Greenwich. Rye FD was in attendee in Larchmont to witness the torch handoff and then came back to Rye to watch the runners run down Boston Post Rd and then through Purchase St.
