| This year's September 11th memorial services were held on the evening of Friday, September 11th. Services began with ceremony at Rye Fire HQ, where the September 11th remembrance plaque was placed. Lead by Rye Mayor Joe Sack, the services included several politicians speaking about their memories of this tragic event. Before the services moved to the September 11th gazebo, Father Joseph Lin read a short prayer.
After the services, Rye Firefighters proceeded to the Rye Varsity Football Game at Nugent Stadium. On that evening, The Rye Garnets played their first home game of the season. Ladder 26 was used to raise the american flag over the field. |
