On October 11th, The Rye Fire Department hosted a Fire Prevention Week Open House. This event was open to the entire community and included a jaws of life demo, apparatus tours and of course, and opportunity to learn about fire safety and fire prevention. Firefighters also answered several homeowner's questions about smoke detectors, CO detectors and fire extinguishers. The event drew large crowds at times and provided an excellent opportunity for the community to interact with the fire department. We look forward to hopefully making this event a yearly tradition.
