Bus Fire on Cedar Street

On Sunday, November 29th, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Cedar Pl and Goldwin Pl for a reported bus on fire. While enroute, Rye PD officers advised they had a fully involved coach bus fire with extension problems. Rye PD began to evacuate nearby homes while the flames began to spread to other busses. Fire apparatus arrived shortly thereafter and stretched two hoselines to the fire. Due to the quick actions of Rye FD and PD, the fire was contained to a single bus and did not spread to nearby homes. The Westchester County Department of Emergency Services Cause and Origin team was requested to determine the exact source of the fire.
