On Thursday, February 4th, The Rye Fire Department was dispatched to Interstate 95 SB in the area of Playland Parkway (Exit 19) for a reported Motor Vehicle Fire. While enroute, Units received conflicting reports as to the exact location. Ultimately, units located the fully-involved van, with trailer in tow, in the southbound lanes near the Central St overpass. The Engine crews immediately put water on the fire and began to check for extension to the trailer. Because more water was needed, Harrison Engine 10 was requested to the scene to feed Engine 192 with water. Additional firefighters were also standing by on the Central Street overpass incase a hydrant was needed.

Firefighters remained on scene after the fire was extinguished to provide scene lighting. Firefighters returned to service after the vehicle and it's belongings were removed.
