As an annual Memorial Day Weekend Tradition, The United States Marine Corps comes to Playland to participate in an Air Raid Demo. This year, two USMC aircraft, a Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion and a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey participated in the demo. The Rye Fire Department, as well as our Mutual Aid Partners from Harrison FD and Village of Mamaroneck FD were on standby in case of emergency. Once the aircraft have landed, park visitors were given tours of the aircraft and able to meet soldiers, who ware all stationed out of North Carolina.
