Near Downing at Playland Lake

On Sunday, August 7th at approx. 4:30pm, the Rye Fire Department and Port Chester EMS were dispatched to Playland Park for a report of an overturned boat with people in the water. Units were quickly on scene and determined that there was no overturned boat but there were people in the water in distress. One of the lake tour boats was able to pick the two victims out of the water and bring them to the dock. Firefighters assisted Playland's EMTs with removing the parties from the boat and bringing them up to the boathouse. Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS was quickly on scene and transported all the parties to a local hospital.
