| At 1237 on Thursday, February 14 2008, the Rye Fire Department was dispatched to a reported "MVA Rollover with Extrication" on Milton Road in the area of the Presbyterian Church. Ladder 26 and Engine 192 arrived to find a Toyota Camry sedan lying on its roof on the edge of the Northbound lane of Milton Road. Car 2422 and several volunteer members also responded, and access was gained to the vehicle's cabin without the use of hydraulic rescue tools. The driver of the inverted vehicle, who was the sole occupant, had non-life-threatening injuries and was removed from the vehicle by personnel from Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS. Firefighters contained leaking fluids and stood by with a 1-3/4" handline as a precaution. As the Rye Police Department controlled traffic and investigated the accident, a wrecker from Banahan Brothers arrived and quickly righted the badly damaged vehicle and removed it from the scene. All Rye FD units returned to service by 1330. (All photos by MPH Member Jonathan Capasso) |
