On Friday, March 28th the 30,000th visitor viewed the Ryefire.com website. Considering the site was launched only 11 months ago, this figure represents significant traffic. The intent of the site is to create place whereby anyone can learn about the department, fire calls, current news and events, and volunteering opportunities. In addition the site serves as a resource of information for the volunteers in communicating about training, meetings, and related intra-departmental issues.

The success of the website in meeting these objectives is supported by the visitors themselves that have come to the site. The 30,000 page views are broken down as follows: City of Rye (34.2% from zip code 10580, excluding volunteers); RFD Volunteers (29.4%); Westchester County (18.1% excluding 10580); Tri-State (11.9 % CT, NY, and NJ excluding Westchester County); National (5.1%); and International (1.3%).

The Department strives to make the site as helpful and relevant as possible to the people it serves. Should you have any questions, thoughts, ideas, or suggestions on how it can be better, please let us know.
