Since 1989, the Rye Fire Department has operated an International/Saulsbury Generator/Light truck that has responded to structural alarms, hazard calls and is part of the first assignment for all MVA's on I-95/I-287 and within the City of Rye. Originally designated as Patrol 3 and now known as Utility 39, this vehicle is an essential tool for transporting volunteer members to incidents and for providing lighting and other needed support at the scene. Recently, U-39 received new emergency lighting and safety upgrades including installation of an LED light bar and LED warning lights and the addition of reflective striping to the sides and reflective chevrons on the rear for added safety. As we move deeper into the 21st Century, safety will continue to be the top priority of the Rye Fire Department and we are proud to operate a fleet that has up-to-date warning devices.
