The Rye Fire Department would like to congratulate Max Billington on his recent appointment to the position of Career Firefighter for the City of Rye. Max has been a volunteer with the Poningoe Engine and Hose Company since 2009 and held the ranks of 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant and finally Captain. Prior to joining the Ponigoe Engine and Hose Company, Max served as an explorer with the Port Chester/Rye Fire Departments Explorer Post 700. Max's father Mike Billington is currently the Second Assistant Chief of the Department and Max's grandfather was a Career Firefighter in Rye. Max was sworn in last week and will begin the Westchester County Career Fire Academy in a few weeks. We wish him well!
