On Thursday September 5th around 14:00 hours, The Rye Fire Department was notified by United Water of a water main break on Osborn Rd by Boston Post Road. Emergency repairs began immediately. The leak and repairs left a large portion of Rye without running water, and thus no hydrants.

The decision was made to request a mutual aid tanker from Armonk for the duration of the emergency repairs. Tanker 9 and Car 2022 relocated to our Milton Fire House (Station 2). Tanker 9 was directed to respond with Engine 192 to alarms.

Shortly after 18:00 hours, United Water notified The Rye Fire Department that all repairs had been made and water service has been restored. Armonk's Tanker was then released.

Mutual Aid: Car 2022, Tanker 9
