Rye firefighters were dispatched to an early morning basement fire at 19 Franklin Ave on Thursday morning. The call came in at 6:57 AM and Rye firefighters were quickly on scene. Engine 192 was first on the scene reporting smoke in the structure, followed by Ladder 25 transmitting the 10-75 (working fire). Working smoke detectors alerted the family of the fire in the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
